Storage Solutions for Tiny Spaces: Bathroom

The bathroom in our apartment is pretty bare bones.  I was worried about storage when we were looking at the apartment due to the fact that there isn’t even a vanity or a hand towel rail.  Let’s just say we didn’t move here for the luxury double bath.  Haha.  Here are some before pics, minus the dried blood that was splattered on the walls, no joke!

With a few little additions the bathroom is totally do-able.  In fact it’s my second favorite room in the house because it’s so cozy and warm.

Problems I was presented with:  Trying not to put holes in the walls, and a tight budget, boo!  I am pretty pleased with the results due to those restrictions.

Firstly, I made use of the ghetto medicine cabinet, that now I like to call ‘vintage’ :)  Only items that we use every day are allowed to be housed here.  The adjustable shelves made it easy to maximize the little space.

Secondly, Brad found these pretty picnic baskets at the thrift store for $5.  He thought I would like them and that they could help us with the storage situation.  Did I pick a keeper or what?!  These baskets house extra bathroom items, hand towels, cleaning supplies etc.  They fit perfectly under the sink and double as a towel rail.

I added a few glamorous accessories and I was done:  This gorgeous, ruffled shower curtain that my sis-in-law, Kimberly made us for a wedding present, two $6 clearance chrome clocks from Walmart, a cozy $7 rug from Target, and a few candles.

Not too shabby for an under $30 make-over.  Although, I am eye-ing some new additions… waiting for them to go on sale.  I’ll keep you posted :)
