Thrift Store Find: Louis Chairs

Don’t you hate it when you go on a blog and see an awesome DIY before and after picture of a piece of furniture that you think you could never find?

Well I am living proof that with a little persistence you will eventually find a great piece!

These chairs are originals, made in Salt Lake City in 1950 and I am so excited to pretty them up and have them in our home!

I am totally digging the mustard velvet fabric (no joke), but as it is definitely passed its best I am debating between traditional vs trendy and fun re-upholstery.

I think I might go a little crazy with this pair, at least a fun pattern on the back. Which do you like best?

I love the white and brown look – so classic but not very practical

Great find! I’m in the middle of re-doing a pair of Louis chairs myself. Can’t wait to see what you do!

I agree with Sarah. My favorite is the white and brown upholstery. I also like the third photo. It is still classic on the front, with a hint of playfulness on the back.

BTW… amazing deal! I love this chair design. Congrats!!

I also agree with LB. I love a little bit of color to the chairs. Great find Em!

You know I will always choose color, and I agree the third picture is a great compromise.

why not choose 2 different styles and feature them apart from each other maybe one dark linen colour the other a bold paisley or something classic or liberty of london fabric or better still the chair back and front in a durrie rug fabric !
