Basic Quiche Recipe
Quiche is one of my favorite brunch options for this time of year. Our Mum, Terri makes the yummiest quiches and today she’s sharing her basic recipe that you can customize with your favorite fillings.
You Will Need:
1 c cheddar cheese
2 c cream
3/4 tsp salt
Fillings. This quiche pictured above is feta cheese and spinach. Another family favorite is adding 1/3 c onions and bacon. Add as much or as little of your favorite fillings.
How To Make:
Heat oven to 425. Prepare pastry and line dish. Sprinkle fillings along the bottom of dish. Beat eggs slightly, beat in cream, and salt (pepper too if you like), pour on top of fillings. Bake uncovered for 15 mins then reduce heat to 300 and bake until firm, usually an additional 30 mins.
This quiche is very decadent with pastry, cream and cheese. Make a healthier version by forgoing the crust (gluten-free), subbing cream for milk, and adding veggies.
This recipe is so delicious and easy. I love how you can change it up depending on the needs of the family and on what you have on hand in the fridge.
