Em’s Halloween Bookcase

We’re almost in October and with Halloween approaching I decided to gather a few black and brown items from around the house to make a spooky display for our front living room.

One thing I really wanted in our new house was a fireplace. The builder was charging close to a fortune for one so we decided against it. Instead, I’ve tried to make a focal point in the living room with my trusty Expedit bookcase and decorate the top like I would a mantle.

It was easy to make a spooky display with this black ‘creepy cloth‘ from the Dollar Tree and fake candles I found at the thrift store, which flicker and glow orange at night. Artificial leaves stuck into the creepy cloth also finished off the display nicely.

How are you decorating for Halloween this year?
