Emily’s Nursery Inspiration

It’s hard to believe baby Jane will be here in just a few months. Actually, that’s wishful thinking. It’s still 3.5 months away! Boo!

Anyway, time to get going on the nursery! I want the nursery to be mostly coral and tan and will for sure be adding pops of espresso and white for my normal ‘high contrast’ look.

Number one on the priority list is keeping cost to a minimum. Here are a few pieces I am looking at:

boxwood clippings_em's nursery inspiration board

jenny lind espresso crib $166

something similar to this chair.

cream bean bag $44 (I bought this already in store on clearance for $14)

coral posters $9

linen lamp $25

mirrored accent table $190

sugarboo framed art $20 (Sugarboo at Target…holler)

peachy rug 5×8 $60

benjamin moore coral buff paint

Do you have any recommendations in the nursery for furniture or decor? I’d love to hear your advice!

As the mom of three young ones, I’d strongly recommend a rocking chair. There are tons of stylish ones that would compliment your decor nicely and it’s really needed for functionality! Congratulations!

Hi Emily, What a lovely nursery! It seems so relaxing. As a mom of four (including twins!), I have one bit of advice about the chair. Though lovely, it seems that you would want arms on it so you can prop yourself/baby up while nursing or bottlefeeding, or even just holding the baby. I’m afraid your arms will get really tired if you don’t have enough support. A boppy pillow works really well, but having a bit more to lean on might make things even more comfortable. Good luck!

I’d recommend a very comfy chair for late night feedings. I felt like I splurged a bit with Claire but she’s almost two and I still love it! I ended up with a plush curduroy glider from Babies R Us and highly recommend it!

I really like the color combination in the rug and prints. This will be a perfect room for Jane.

I love the coral! Feminine without being too much pink. Here’s a pillow I make that I think would work perfect in your nursery. :) http://www.etsy.com/listing/151719783/hand-embroidered-coral-pillow-cover?ref=shop_home_feat_1

Let me know if you like it, and I’ll work something out with Mela to get it to you. :)
