Glitter Acorns

Thursday, September 17th, 2015

You know what’s fun? Glitter!!!

It’s pretty hard to beat good ole’ nature, but sometimes is fun to add little sparkle!

These acorns were simply dipped in glue and sprinkled with the good stuff (HERE).

They’re nice to dot around the house, or to display together in a bowl.

As always, it’s always fun to add a little festivity here and there! :)

Em’s Fall Favorites!

Tuesday, September 15th, 2015

Here’s what I used to cozy up our family room this fall…

boxwood clippings | boxwood clippings fall faves

1  | Love THIS free printable! It is earthy and perfect for fall. I took it to my local print shop and had it re-sized and printed for just a few dollars. Framed in my favorite frame HERE, it cost under $20 for a great piece of art!

2 | Candlelight is not even and option in the fall, it’s a must! Love THESE brass lanterns from Pottery Barn. THESE copper ones are also beautiful!

3 | I got my sugar pine cones on clearance at Crate and Barrel a while ago but you can buy them on ebay HERE.

4 | We love THIS pouf! Jane loves climbing and jumping on it, and it beckons my tired feet at the end of the day.

5 | Brad got me THIS blanket for my birthday last year. It is perfection in every sense of the word!

6 | September first marks the day my wellies come downstairs for the season HERE. My favorite boots for rain and snow. I’ve had them for years and they still look exactly the same. Worth the splurge!

7 | The world’s greatest pillow cover HERE. Paired with my furry pillows HERE…so heavenly.

8 | I always love copper accents but even more so this time of year. THIS is perfect for the wet months ahead to house all our wet shoes and boots.

Do you have fall favorites you are adding to your house? Please share!

Em’s Fall Family Room

Monday, September 14th, 2015

I love that with every new season, I want our spaces to feel differently.

In the fall I want our family room to feel layered and cozy…ready for hot chocolate and a movie and a comfy place for Jane to play.

Rice Krispy Treats, Fall Edition!

Friday, September 11th, 2015

We attempted our first baking session with all three babies last week!

What is the perfect treat to get you in an autumn mood?
Peanut butter and chocolate topped off with more peanut butter!

We used THIS recipe, and made a second batch subbing chocolate chips for peanut butter.

The babies loved stirring and then pressing the mixture into cupcake tins to make perfectly-portioned rice krispie treats. We then pressed Reece’s Pieces on top before the mixture set.

We won’t mention the countless marshmallows on the floor and the following sugar highs, but overall it was a great time.

Easiest recipe to bake with kids hands-down…and mighty delicious too!
