Cheese and Onion Pie

Friday, October 30th, 2015

Growing up, when we were out on a cold, chilly night we would often stop on at the local chippy to grap a portion of fish n chips, or our favorite…a cheese and onion pie for a late-night supper.

Yum, yum, yum! Warm, cheesy goodness!

It has been wet and chilly in Utah and reminding us of those yummy nights, so it was time to try to create our own!

You can use any pie crust recipe (we use this ONE) and HERE is the recipe for the filling.

The babies LOVED it, the house smelled delicious, and it was just what we needed on a chilly night!

You might want to give this a try before heading out the door tomorrow night, it will warm you through and through :)

Em’s House: Adding Buffalo Check

Monday, October 26th, 2015

A good black and white buffalo check is one of my favorite things this fall!

It seems THIS fabric was out of stock foreveeer at my local Ikea,
so I snatched it up in a heartbeat when I saw it store a few weeks ago!

A newly covered notice board and a few pillow can really change things up, in the best of ways.

All hail to the buffalo check! Who’s with me?!

Follow this amazing meringue recipe HERE.

Buy heavy whipping cream and whisk on high with a little powdered sugar until stiff peaks form.

Top with a little Hershey’s syrup and mandarin oranges and you have 100% deliciousness.

You won’t regret giving this one a try ;)

Making a Wreath for Free is our Fave!

Wednesday, October 21st, 2015

Man, how we love a simple, pretty project that costs us nothing at all!

Sarah has a lot of dusty miller plants in front of her home, that needed a good clipping for winter. We took the clippings to make the easiest wreath ever!

We used a wire hanger as our wreath base (see HERE), which we simply just bent into an oval. Next we attached the dusty miller clippings by wiring the stems to the hanger.

This plant dries great, and this project took about 10 minutes!

We’ll take any chance we get to bring a little extra life into the house for the winter, especially when it’s free!
