Refreshing Old Greenery: Em’s Gold and White Christmas Tree

Wednesday, November 18th, 2015

White has never been more popular, which is something we’re thrilled about!

Last year I liked my Christmas decor (HERE), but wished for a flocked or white tree. Before putting the tree up this year we decided to do a little DIY to ‘dust’ my tree and garlands.

I couldn’t be happier with how it turned out!

We achieved this look by setting up the tree in the back yard and spray painting it white. We didn’t go too heavy, I wanted some of the green to show through. This literally took 10 minutes, and we left it to dry for a few hours before taking it back in the house.

We used Rust-oleum Painters’ Touch 2x ultracover spray paint in semi-gloss white. This is availalble at Jones Paint and Glass who recommended it as it specifically adheres to plastic. We used 1.5 cans for a 7ft tree.

So much brighter and more updated than the bland old tree!

A big thank you to Jones Paint and Glass for sponsoring the post. I’m so happy with my updated tree!

Cookies in a Box Thanksgiving Gift

Wednesday, November 11th, 2015

December is always so insanely busy!
With shopping, parties, and everything else we’re trying to get ahead and are giving our neighbors’ gifts the week of Thanksgiving in lieu of Christmas this year.

Cookies wrapped in parchment, boxed and tied in string, accompanied with a gratitude note will do the job nicely.

We think this would work great for c0-workers and friends too.
A nice little gesture of thanks and getting ahead on Christmas….holler!

PS. Boxes are from HERE!

Christmas Gift Wrapping Station

Monday, November 9th, 2015

Our Christmas shopping is far from finished. However, we’ve thought of everything we need for wrapping everything!

Wrapping is such a highlight of this festive season. It’s so much fun to sit down, put on a christmas movie and really enjoy the process.

Having everything ready and in one place is the recipe for a good ol’ wrapping sesh!

We tend not to buy all our supplies in one place, but generally have our eyes peeled on our errands. Target, Micheals, Hobby Lobby, TJ Maxx and Ikea are some of our spots.boxwood clippings | gift wrapping stationBlack and gold is our favorite again this year. What do you guys have planned?
