My least favorite household task is hands down scrubbing the tub, talk about manual labor! I absolutely despised this task, until my friend, Nicki introduced me to this fab Pinterest find:
Lifesaver Tub Scrub
You Will Need:
One scrubber from the Dollar Tree
1:1 ratio of Dawn and white vinegar
Simply wet down the shower and tub down and gently scrub this mixture into the tub. Next, let soak for a few minutes and then rinse away.
It is seriously insane how easy and how great this works! I absolutely love having a sparkling tub greet me at the end of each day!
Thanks for the tip Nicki! If anyone else hates scrubbing your tub…you have to give this a try!!!
Last time I visited The Dollar Tree, I spied these dishes that I just couldn’t pass up. They screamed summer to me, just like the kind you’d find in an old country farmhouse and I just had to have them.
Aren’t they just perfect?! Pass the corn and watermelon, summer’s here and I’m ready!
One of the bad things about summer is flip flop feet.
You know what I’m talking about!
To help your pedi last a little longer,
make sure to pick up one of these pumice sponges on your next visit to the Dollar Tree.
A little scrub with this nightly
Happy Monday everyone! I hope you all had a lovely weekend. I saw blossoms this weekend and I couldn’t be happier spring is officially here!
Another thing to brighten my day are these lovely geometric coral note cards from the Dollar Spot at Target.
Look at those cute envelopes! I’m obsessed with peachy corals every spring time.
8 note cards and envelopes for a dollar. Holler!
This post is a little random, but too handy not to share…
I just HATE spending money on things I don’t want to spend money on! Cellophane, tin foil, toilet paper all fall into this category, but at the same time, I am willing to spend the extra amount to get the quality, coz let’s face it thin TP is not fun. :)
Anyhow, I’m proud to say I’ve found the best of both worlds with this cellophane from The Dollar Tree. Not only is it only $1, but it actually works, and sticks and everything!!!
So be sure to add this to your dollar store shopping list, you’ll love me for it…pinky promise!
Usually I like to make my own cards, it’s personal and thrifty, but some birthdays just sneak up on me and it’s time to head to the store.
Trader Joe’s has a little collection of greeting cards that are all $1, and really cute. If you’re not into making yours, I highly recommend going and stocking up. That way they’ll be on hand and just waiting for a little message and a stamp.
Little things like this make me feel organized and slightly on top of things, and you’ve got to love that!!!
When we were little we used to pretend we were chefs on a cooking show. We would imagine having all of our ingredients measured out perfectly ready and waiting in little glass bowls, ready for the moment they would be needed on the show.
Well our dreams became a reality when I was wondering around The Dollar Tree a few days ago. Three perfect little glass bowls 3 for $1!!! Holler!!!
At this price, I had to snatch up 12! I’m thinking they would be great little bowls to hold dressing and garnishings for the dinner table, but most importantly Sarah and I have a cooking show to create!
The Dollar Spot at Target is always its best around the holidays. I can’t get over these finds for only $1…holler!!!
Stickers, tags and ribbons to spruce up your gift wrap:
Chalk board pen:
We’ve been on the hunt for this bad boy since the chalk board trend began, but could only find pricey versions, we couldn’t believe this one was only $1. They are soooo much easier to write with over chalk, so go get yourself one or two!
Always remember (especially at this pricey time of year), you don’t have to spend a lot to get the cute stuff :)
Today we’re so excited to be blogging this Christmas Holler Dollar over at 6th Street Design School.
Check it out for an awesome and inexpensive Christmas gift idea!
It’s hard to believe that Christmas is just around the corner! We have our thinking caps on for gifts for everyone on our lists. Here are five gifts we picked up that we think are pretty great for a buck!
- Wet n Wild nail polish. A bright hue for all your friends. (rite aid)
- Old-fashioned Coke. You know Santa only drinks coke from a glass bottle! (target)
- Ferrero Rocher. Yum. (target)
- Dominos in wood box found at The Dollar Tree. Perfect stocking stuffer, so cute!
- Lindor balls in little package. Adorbs! (target)
Do you have your thinking cap on yet for affordable gift options? We’d love to hear your ideas!
I know it’s unusual to post two holler dollars in a row. This one wasn’t suppose to be published for another week or two, but when we went to Target today, we saw these were no longer $1 but down to ¢50…CRAY CRAY!!!
These Spritz wrapping papers are adorable, and come in these cool colours along with some warmer pinks and reds. For under a buck it’s the perfect time to restock your wrapping stations.
They even have boxes and bags to match all at ¢50, and some of the cutest wrapping trimmings I’ve ever seen.
If you’re on your way to the store, be sure to go check them out. :)
Toblerone chocolate is simply some of the best around. Although the giant bars they sell at the airport get me giddy with one look, there’s something about the mini miniature version that has me dying with it’s cutness. Awe!
These run around $1.25 at Target, but I was happy to see them this week at my local Dollar Tree, yippee!
Only the size of a pencil, the triangle pieces are adorbs!
Such a perfect little gift for just $1, don’t you think?!
Question: If you saw a giant bar of chocolate abandoned but unopened, would you pick it up? This happen to Em and I three years ago in London, and we were quite hysterical about our unexpected treat!
I think I have found the best holler dollar around… Trader Joe’s Oatmeal and Honey Soap. This pure vegetable soap with no harsh chemicals smells of milky cinnamon, helping me feel very fall-y and melting my daily stressors away at the same time. It’s creamy texture makes it perfect to sub for shaving cream and leaves my skin clean and soft.
I am planning to wrap these up in fabric and give them as gifts for Christmas this year, which I am really excited about. At $1.69 for a two pack, they work out to be only $.85 each! I can’t wait for everyone to try them.
Read more about this soap HERE. Thanks Trader Joe’s, you really are my favorite!!
When I was little, I was not the best reader. However, my parents had a cunning plan to make all their kids love books…and that was to let us stay up an extra hour IF we were reading. I quickly learnt how to fall in love stories, and the work of reading each word eventually disappeared.
Right now at Target they have these charming classic books in their dollar spot. $1 are you kidding me? Obviously, the stories are amazing, but I’m really also impressed with the book designs, seriously adorbs!
Not too early to be thinking about stocking stuffers! Hint hint!
Brock thinks this is way over the top, but I HATE the look of his allergy pills. I try and put them in the medicine cupboard but he says if they’re not out, he forgets to take them.
On a recent trip to a health store (Good Earth) I saw these cute little bottles for just 90¢, and knew it was a solution to our little issue.
Now we’re both happy, cute bottle for me and accessible for him. Another simple pleasure and problem solved!
Wouldn’t it be cute to redo your whole medicine cabinet? Brown bottles all lined up…

Unfortunately or fortunately for me expensive shampoo’s and conditioner’s take all the life out of my hair making it more limp and almost impossible to even tie in a pony. My hair is naturally very soft and silky which is usually not something to complain about, but sometimes it’s maddening to work with.
By much experiment, I’ve found the ‘cheaper’ shampoo’s on the market to be better for my hair, they actually give my hair some volume without weighing it down and yes it’s a major HOLLER that my favorite turn’s out to be only a $1 or under if on sale.
