We were super stoked to find these totally adorable gift tags at Ikea last week…10 for a buck!
Ikea has really expanded their gift wrapping selection and it is all fantastic! (see HERE).
This is our new favorite holler dollar at Ikea, but we may have momentarily forgotten about those yummy cinamon rolls. What’s your favorite?
This waking up in the night business with a baby is a whole new ball game for me.
Turn on a lamp and Jane is bright-eyed and bushy tailed…for hours!
Enter…the night light!
THIS dollar night light gives us just the amount of light in the nursery to help me avoid injury when I’m walking around like a zombie, and keeps Janey in sleepy mode.
It has the Good Housekeeping seal of approval and mine too!
Hallelujah for The Dollar Tree!
I was undecided on the girls’ Halloween costumes this year, but knew I wanted something easy and adorable.
The Dollar Tree came to my rescue again with these fairy wings (link HERE). Matched with clothes they already had: a onesie, cardigan, tutu, leggings and ballet shoes…Elizabeth transformed into one pretty cute fairy!
I think the only thing cuter will be when we double the fun on the actual night. Hannah was asleep for the dress rehearsal!
Do you have any quick and thrifty costume ideas? Do share!
There’s something about these little things that make me giddy.
I don’t know what it is, but they are so simple and funny it’s genius.
I thought I’d be fun to dot them around my house for Halloween and bring a little life to everyday objects.
Here’s how it turned out:
On a lamp.
On kitchen cabinets:
On a pumpkin:
On a chest of drawers:
You can find these lots of places this time of year, these were from Target for $1, holler!
There are sooooo many great baby items on the market these days that it’s hard not to get carried away.
These 4 items from the Dollar Tree, (although not all are specifically made for baby) have not only been a relief on the wallet, but have been some of the most used items in our homes this year.
1. Mini Tubs are sooo freaking handy dandy!
We’ve used them to store binkies, formula, and now rice cereal. They’re 10 for $1…
2. Plastic Bin, these have been so great for lots of things, but primarily carrying dirty bottles to and fro, upstairs to down.
In the early days we also kept one in the shower with oxyclean in, whenever the girls had a blowout we’d just pop dirty clothing item in their to soak until the next wash. Worked wonders and very proud to report we have very little stained items. :)
3. Diaper Bags (see HERE) we opted for these instead of a diaper genie type because we have “diaper changing stations” all over the house. Simply pop the diaper in and tie it up. They actually work pretty well for holding in the stench!
4. Mesh Wastebaskets (see HERE) these are perfect for holding all those bagged diapers, and easy to empty every day or so.
So there you have it! Our very thrifty and handy baby finds.
If you have anymore, please do share!
My least favorite household task is hands down scrubbing the tub, talk about manual labor! I absolutely despised this task, until my friend, Nicki introduced me to this fab Pinterest find:
Lifesaver Tub Scrub
You Will Need:
One scrubber from the Dollar Tree
1:1 ratio of Dawn and white vinegar
Simply wet down the shower and tub down and gently scrub this mixture into the tub. Next, let soak for a few minutes and then rinse away.
It is seriously insane how easy and how great this works! I absolutely love having a sparkling tub greet me at the end of each day!
Thanks for the tip Nicki! If anyone else hates scrubbing your tub…you have to give this a try!!!
Last time I visited The Dollar Tree, I spied these dishes that I just couldn’t pass up. They screamed summer to me, just like the kind you’d find in an old country farmhouse and I just had to have them.
Aren’t they just perfect?! Pass the corn and watermelon, summer’s here and I’m ready!
One of the bad things about summer is flip flop feet.
You know what I’m talking about!
To help your pedi last a little longer,
make sure to pick up one of these pumice sponges on your next visit to the Dollar Tree.
A little scrub with this nightly
Happy Monday everyone! I hope you all had a lovely weekend. I saw blossoms this weekend and I couldn’t be happier spring is officially here!
Another thing to brighten my day are these lovely geometric coral note cards from the Dollar Spot at Target.
Look at those cute envelopes! I’m obsessed with peachy corals every spring time.
8 note cards and envelopes for a dollar. Holler!
This post is a little random, but too handy not to share…
I just HATE spending money on things I don’t want to spend money on! Cellophane, tin foil, toilet paper all fall into this category, but at the same time, I am willing to spend the extra amount to get the quality, coz let’s face it thin TP is not fun. :)
Anyhow, I’m proud to say I’ve found the best of both worlds with this cellophane from The Dollar Tree. Not only is it only $1, but it actually works, and sticks and everything!!!
So be sure to add this to your dollar store shopping list, you’ll love me for it…pinky promise!
Usually I like to make my own cards, it’s personal and thrifty, but some birthdays just sneak up on me and it’s time to head to the store.
Trader Joe’s has a little collection of greeting cards that are all $1, and really cute. If you’re not into making yours, I highly recommend going and stocking up. That way they’ll be on hand and just waiting for a little message and a stamp.
Little things like this make me feel organized and slightly on top of things, and you’ve got to love that!!!
When we were little we used to pretend we were chefs on a cooking show. We would imagine having all of our ingredients measured out perfectly ready and waiting in little glass bowls, ready for the moment they would be needed on the show.
Well our dreams became a reality when I was wondering around The Dollar Tree a few days ago. Three perfect little glass bowls 3 for $1!!! Holler!!!
At this price, I had to snatch up 12! I’m thinking they would be great little bowls to hold dressing and garnishings for the dinner table, but most importantly Sarah and I have a cooking show to create!
The Dollar Spot at Target is always its best around the holidays. I can’t get over these finds for only $1…holler!!!
Stickers, tags and ribbons to spruce up your gift wrap:
Chalk board pen:
We’ve been on the hunt for this bad boy since the chalk board trend began, but could only find pricey versions, we couldn’t believe this one was only $1. They are soooo much easier to write with over chalk, so go get yourself one or two!
Always remember (especially at this pricey time of year), you don’t have to spend a lot to get the cute stuff :)
Today we’re so excited to be blogging this Christmas Holler Dollar over at 6th Street Design School.
