Worth the Splurge: Pureology Shampoo and Conditioner

Thursday, May 29th, 2014

We all have good hair days, and not so good hair days, but this Pureology shampoo and conditioner duo are the best I’ve ever used at giving my hair consistent results.

Instead of layering lots of products, these two protect alone keep the ends of my hair hydrated, tame my tangles easily, and still give me the volume and look I want. My hair smells and feels so nice when I use these products!

They are definitely a splurge, but when you buy in bulk it really reduces the cost. For example these 1/2 gallon sizes should last about a year, so isn’t really that expensive when you break it down.

If you haven’t tried these products before give a little travel size sample a try and see how you like it before you commit to the bulk sizes.

Do you have any hair products you are loving lately?

Goody Keep It Smooth Hairbrush

Wednesday, April 23rd, 2014

A few weekends ago, we got away to Brad’s parents home in Midway, UT. I inevitably always forget to pack something…this time a hairbrush.

Some girls may be able to go a day without a brush, but this messy head cannot! Off to Walmart I headed, where I picked up the cheapest paddle brush I could find…

boxwoodclippings_$3 goody paddle brushWith my expectations set pretty low on a $4 brush, THIS Goody ‘Keep It Smooth’ hairbrush turned out to be amazing! It tames my tangled mess of a head way better than my more expensive paddle brush that I’ve been using for many years and is only $3 online!

So if any of you are less than thrilled with your current brush (or need an extra to keep stowed in your overnight bag), give this $3 brush a try!

Girls Spring Dresses

Thursday, April 10th, 2014

After 7 years of fertility issues we really had no preference when it came to genders,  but when we found out we were having twin girls the dress dreams began flooding in!!!

This year, I’m lucky to have the most adorable hand-me-down dresses, but that didn’t stop me from looking anyhow! Dress No.1 below comes in both baby blue and pink, to DIE for for twin girls don’t you think? Originally priced at $44 it was a “no way”, but now it’s on sale for $33 (HERE) and was as low as $26 on Ralph Lauren this week.

Which has me asking the question: what is your price point for dresses? Or any clothing items for your children for that matter?

Dresses 2,3 and 4 are ALL UNDER $25! Which I think is pretty amazing. What do you guys think?

(No.1: $33.75 HERE, No.2: $16.87 HERE, No.3: $23.99 HERE, No.4: $24.99 HERE)

Twinkle Toes

Thursday, December 19th, 2013

Christmas is the one time of year I like my nails manicured. Usually I am way too rough to expect my nails to be perfect for more than a day, but something about having them pretty for Christmas day makes the day even a little more special and helps me feel a little put together when I’m lounging around my pajamas and no make up.

boxwoodclippings_sally hansen golden rule nail polishI recently found this Sally Hansen color ‘Golden Rule’ at Target. It reminds me of my glitter champagne baubles on the tree and thought I should give it a try. It is so sparkly, dries fast and is very long-wearing, making this perfect for my Christmas 2013 twinkle toes :)

I’ve never had glitter nails done professionally, but I think two coats of ‘Golden Rule’ looks pretty great and is so much cheaper than the professional version too!

What will your nails be wearing this Christmas?
