Party Favors for Mummies and Kiddies

Wednesday, February 18th, 2015

Since the twins party was held for both Mothers and Children we thought it’d be cute to do separate favors.

.

The first, were honey jars for the mummies. They went perfect with our Winnie-the-Pooh theme, and were just adorable in miniature size.

I found the jars HERE, and the local honey from a vendor.

Very effective, and very easy!

The kids party bags were just as fun. I took inspiration from my British childhood and each guest left with candy, book and stickers.

Lucky for me, I’d had the theme in my head when the girls were 6 months old, so when the dollar spot at Target had a bunch of Winnie-the-Pooh books and toys, I knew I should stock up early to get the good prices.

The miniature board books were my favorite and a steal for $1.

The cute sticker bags and candy boxes were of course from Gygi who always are are go-to for packaging. (See HERE and HERE).

Festive Table Setting

Monday, November 17th, 2014

We were floored when we saw this pretty dishware at The Dollar Store!

Sure it’s not bone china, but for a dollar a piece it is pretty amazing!

Paired with a simple evergreen clipping from the yard and a little treat for after dinner it makes a lovely holiday setting!

Lemon Cream Chocolates

Friday, May 9th, 2014

Last week we altered this easy recipe to make our own lemon creams. We love lemon, especially this time of year. So zesty and fresh!

Here’s what you’ll need to make your own:

2 c powdered sugar

2 1/2 tablespoons butter

1/4 tsp lemon oil (not extract)

1/4 tsp pure vanilla extract

12 oz chocolate apeels

2 tablespoons evaporated milk

Follow directions HERE.

These turned out so perfectly we wrapped them up in cellophane to give out as favors at Emily’s shower.

Mini Gratitude Book Favors

Monday, November 4th, 2013

Do you guys remember when we did the mini composition book makeovers (see HERE)? We thought it’d be fun to do them again but this time with a Thanksgiving twist.

How cute would this be for a little thanksgiving favor?!

We used basic craft paper, but you could even use a paper bag. Black ribbon, and a rub-on transfer to create the look. Again, see HERE for full instructions.

………………

I think it was Oprah that introduced me to the idea of writing down what I’m grateful for, but the hymn “Count your Many Blessings” has been a favorite since childhood. When we remember our blessings, it makes life easier don’t you think?

We really enjoy this holiday. Good job America, Thanksgiving is a great idea! :)

This post brought to you in part by, Gygi.

We are so excited about the little trick or treats we’ll be giving out this year!

We found everything we needed for Halloween at one of our favorite stores, Gygi.

This is what we used:

little bitty treat bags $4.50 for 20 bags

Vanilla taffy $7.99 for 3lb bag

Washi tape $2.99 (in store)

(click HERE to link to all the items)

We put three taffies in per bag and closed it off with a strip of washi tape. One bag of vanilla taffy, three packets of little bitty treat bags, and one washi tape roll will make about 60 trick or treats, which works out to be around $.40 each.

So tiny and adorable!

We think they’d also make a perfect party favor.
