Mini Flower Arrangements

Monday, May 18th, 2015

Happy Monday! We hope you had a lovely weekend and are ready to tackle the week?!

Today we’re sharing the easiest centerpiece idea that can double as a party favor to make any get together a little more special…

We love how these mini arrangements look clustered together as well as how cute they are individually to give as a favor at the end of the evening.

To create this look we bought three bouquets from Walmart for $5 each. We then gathered all our random glass jars. You know the ones…spaghetti sauce, baby food etc jars. You can even just use little plastic cups if you don’t have glass. Then we just clipped the stems and divided between jars…zero floral arranging skills needed!

We made 20 arrangements averaging less than $1 each!

Pretty, thrifty AND organizing our jar cupboard…win, win, win!

DIY Kid Party Hats

Wednesday, April 1st, 2015

What is cuter than a baby with rosy cheeks and pearly teeth?

All of the above plus a party hat!

After a failed attempt to find cute hats for the twins’ first birthday party (HERE), we decided to make our own.

We used THIS template from Oh Happy Day and attached ribbons to help the babies keep their hats on.

Of course, the paper hats were way too tempting for the one-year olds, but the older kiddies loved them for all the birthday festivities.

Oh Hannah, you are a cheeky baby girl and somehow even more so in your little party hat!

Dressing up Costco’s Chocolate Cake

Friday, March 6th, 2015

Last week was my birthday, so I asked Brock to get me my favorite cake from Costco. Usually we make our cakes but this one is just too good not to indulge in at least once a year.

It is so decadent and beautiful on it’s own, but as it was my birthday I thought I’d dress it up a bit.

I used some wooden skewers and scraps of ribbon and made little flag-like decorations.

It was so pretty, but we had to be careful where we lit the candle!

This is such a versatile idea, and can be made to go with any color scheme or theme.

We love a simple spruce!

The Twins’ First Birthday Party: Classic Winnie the Pooh Theme

Tuesday, February 17th, 2015

Can you believe Sarah’s twins are one?!

What a year we’ve had since the arrival of Elizabeth and Hannah! A year full of smiles, giggles, and more diapers than we can count.

A little party for their birthday lunch was in order! Sarah chose a classic Winnie-The-Pooh theme which was perfect for our little pooh-bear and piglet.

Festive Table Setting

Monday, November 17th, 2014

We were floored when we saw this pretty dishware at The Dollar Store!

Sure it’s not bone china, but for a dollar a piece it is pretty amazing!

Paired with a simple evergreen clipping from the yard and a little treat for after dinner it makes a lovely holiday setting!
