Bows & Pumpkins

Monday, October 19th, 2015

With all the warm weather we’ve been having, Halloween has caught us a little off guard this year.

We’re calling it good with a few pumpkins laying around the place tied with pretty bows.boxwood clippings | bows on pumpkins

DIY Ten Minute Tutu!

Wednesday, October 14th, 2015

Halloween is just around the corner, are you ready?
We made the easiest tutus for the babies and were thrilled with how they turned out.

We used a black ribbon as a waistband and made sure to cut it long enough to be able to tie in a bow around the waist.
We bought black tulle HERE with a 40% off coupon, cut into strips and tied the whole spool onto the ribbon.

Ta-da! Not bad for $2 and ten minutes!

Do you have a little witchy, kitty or princess this could work for?

Halloween Hair Wrap Tutorial

Monday, October 5th, 2015

Our very first business started way back when were about 8 and 10 when we’d charge people to do hair wraps in the park!

We’re bringing it back for our little nieces, and thought it was too cute not to share!

Here’s our technique…so funny!

#1 Start with braiding a small section of hair.

#2 Use a piece of cardboard and cut a slit in it to place over the braid…this keeps little wispies of other hair interfering with your wrap.

#3 Cut thread HERE and tie in a knot at the top of the braid. We use two strands of each color and cut 2.5 times the length of the hair.

#4 Start wrapping! Use both strands of color and wrap around hair and other strands of thread.

#5 Switch colors as desired and occasionally push up on the wrapped portion so the wrap is nice and tight.

#5 Continue down the length of the hair and tie threads in another knot when finished.
